On April 10, the China–Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Industrial Cooperation Conference for Sustainable Development was held in the Tianjin Binhai New Area. The key event of the conference was the signing of a memorandum between Van Universal Motors and FAW Jiefang Group Co., Ltd. aimed at production localization and the development of industrial partnership.
The document confirms the parties’ intentions to cooperate in sustainable industrial development, focusing on technology transfer and the creation of joint production facilities. The conference gathered about 400 participants, including representatives from 18 SCO member countries, major corporations, government bodies, and industrial associations. The event was organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the China Chamber of Commerce for Machinery and Electronics, the Tianjin Municipal Commerce Bureau, and the Binhai New Area Administration.
Discussions covered topics such as openness to international cooperation, industrial modernization, investment stimulation, and the development of sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships. Special attention was given to port infrastructure, new energy sources, smart technologies, and sustainable economic growth.
